If I had to point out a quick trick to check for mistakes in a translation, I would suggest the following: translate back your sentence, word by word, into Italian. if the whole sentence you get sounds "good" in Italian, it is highly unlikely it had been put down in a proper English in the first time.

this is a good example of the above.

sounds perfect. smells bad.

pick any sentence in an English book, do the same: you'll hardly ever find a perfect italian sentence. The 2 languages have different structures.

If you translate word by word, you get to Italiese, not English. Which is understandable, but sounds like an old fella born in Messina, babbling about his old times in a Brooklyn bar, in a Scorsese movie.

Making indian people comunicate with workers who only speak "piemontese"will be a funny experience, useful to improve my English
